At 13.5oz, the new Pure Blue Japan Broken Twill denim is lightweight, soft, super comfortable and extremely hairy. In addition, it features a subtler texture and a grey sulphur dyed weft. If you are looking to avoid the inevitable leg twist commonly seen on unsanforized denim and at the same time, you need to add a touch of softness and comfort to your denim rotation; these will be, without a doubt, your best choice.
Broken twill was introduced by Wrangler to avoid the leg twist that appears after washing the right- and left-hand twill fabric because of the tension. Instead of running left or right, broken twill resembles a random zig-zag pattern. Broken twill contains no distinct direction and is formed by breaking the continuity of any continuous twill weave. The zig-zag pattern is formed by reversing the pattern partway through the repeat.
As all the Pure Blue Japan denim, this unique fabric is woven on vintage Toyoda shuttle looms. The surface is super hairy, so the hand feel is really impressive. This denim will develop beautiful grey fades with wear.
The jeans are made with all the superior-quality Pure blue Japan details such as iron buttons, high-quality pocket bags, heavy-duty bar tacks, long stitching, a custom lambskin leather patch and the signature Pure Blue Japan "shoai" embroidery (Indigofera leaf).
This pair features a slim cut, fitted, tapered and finished with a flattering mid-rise (PBJ 013 cut).
