The UES work shirt is based on the style of work shirts first appearing in the 1910s and 1920s but is not a strict reproduction. It can be worn comfortably in all seasons for both work and play.
The fabric is made of UES original chambray (Cotton 60% Linen 40%). We love the premium construction details. The shirt is finished with a slightly more prominent button to come across with a gentle expression. UES used thicker chambray for the lining of the collar and cuff to help keep the form. The sewing has been done by triple chainstitch specifications with a cotton sewing thread. You can enjoy the process of fading by wearing it for many years to come.
UES is a small Japanese label founded by Chuji Matsumoto in 1994. UES comes from the English word "Waste", which means that Matsumoto-San wants you to make full use of each garment for as long as possible before discarding it. It is a small judgement of the concept of disposable wear that is so commonplace today in the world of fashion and from which Matsumoto-San disassociates himself completely.
